Overview

NQNMS is a read-only monitoring tool that runs on its own with no server. Register NVRs manually, by subnet scan or from CSV; each of the three service ports is monitored separately with round-trip timing. Six states (normal, warning, critical, offline, unknown, maintenance) are decided with consecutive-failure confirmation and hysteresis to suppress false alarms and flapping, and a notification is sent once per state transition. Long-term time series feed availability, MTBF and MTTR reports exported to CSV, plus CCTV-specific checks such as recording-retention verification and clock-drift detection.

Registration and discovery

Health checks

Per-port checks of REST, live and playback with RTT; uptime, temperature, disk per path, and per-channel connection, bitrate and recording.

Six states, false-alarm suppression

Consecutive-failure confirmation, hysteresis, flap detection and dependency suppression report only real faults.

Notification and escalation

Tray, pop-up and sound; SMTP e-mail; Telegram bot. Primary/secondary groups with escalation, one notice per transition.

Reports

Availability %, MTBF, MTTR and incident counts, with monitoring gaps and maintenance windows, exported to CSV as SLA evidence.

Recording-retention verification

Computes retained days, gaps and compliance rate to confirm recordings exist as required.

Clock-drift check

Measures the NVR's clock against the PC with round-trip correction and warns past a threshold.

AI event integration

Subscribes to NQVCA MQTT events alongside health logs, and launches NQVMS from a notification to see the video.

Security and survivability

Certificate pinning (TOFU), Digest SHA-256, sealed credential store. Autostart, sleep prevention and monitoring-gap detection.
